For my project I chose to do the color blind challenge on worth 1000. the challenge was to take a picture and change the color on one part of the picture but still make it look kind of natural. I started out with a picture of an eye and started changing the colors in the eye to make it look interesting after I finished that I went on the website and saw that some one had already done that for the color blind contest.
I decided to do a different picture other than the eye. I searched on the internet and found a strawberry so I got that picture. I started out by changing the skin color of the strawberry but after messing with it for a while I decided it would look better if I changed the seeds of the fruit.
So I selected the small seeds of the fruit and changed them to chrome looking color. The hardest part about this project was trying to figure out what to select to change the color on the picture. it was also hard to make the color change look natural but also be different from what the original picture looked like I liked this project because it wasn’t to hard of one but it also made you think about what colors you could use and deciding on a picture was hard because stuff looks weird without its original color on it. I liked this project because it give you a lot of freedom so you could pick something that you liked off of that web site. It was easier to work on this project when it was something that you could do on your own and not have very many guidelines for the entire project other than the rules on worth1000.

On my final project I decided to drawl out my own design. I started out wanting to make a tattoo style design and ended up with a wave that had flowers by the side of it. The most challenging part of this project is to come up with something to make because you had to decide on your own what you’re going to do with no guide lines.
I drew out my whole project in pencil then scanned it into illustrator. I traced all of the lines with the brush tool and then straightened them out to make the waves look like they are flowing smoothly. After making all of the lines I started working on the flowers. I had to redo them a few times so that they looked tattoo styled.
My next biggest task was to figure out what to do with the waves to make them look real. I tried doing a gradient on them but it wasn’t turning out too good so I used the brush tool and drew out all of the waves using to different colors of blue. I finished all of the waves and used the brush tool again to make the tops of the waves to flow evenly with the rest of the wave. The background had I loot of extra space so I made a sun looking design using the paint brush. I used a very colorful gradient on the flowers because solid colors looked kind of weird for all of the flowers.
What I liked most about this project is how you could do whatever you wanted with it. Some of the past projects I didn’t like that much because you couldn’t really draw much stuff out for them. The thing I didn’t like about this project is that it was kind of hard to think of something to do because the idea would sound good in your head but when you start to make it the project doesn’t turn out what you thought it was going to look like. I also had a very hard time to trying to pick colors for my project.
